I looked at a new Corsa when a friend got one, it looks really nice but again the number of recalls would put me off.
Personally, I'm happy with my Kia Picanto. £6000 with duals fitted, 50+ to the gallon, 5 doors, MP3 stereo, twin air bags and a back end that managed to destroy a Rover 400. When I've run it for 3 or 4 years it will be worth nothing, but then again what will a Corsa be worth with 100k on the clock.
I've only had 2 problems with it. The gearbox was playing up when I first got it, it kept slipping out of 4th and rather than mess around the dealer took it in for the afternoon and stuck a whole new box in. The other issue was a burned out fuel sensor, despite me being honest and saying that I felt it may be pupil abuse, they sorted it under warranty in a day.
I can't say enough good things about the car and the dealers and I'm sure they will be at the top of my list when it comes time to replace my current one.
